Timeline of animal experiments. Briefly, following a 2-week acclimatization period, animals were randomly divided into seven groups: Negative control, Letrozole, Letrozole Vehicle (LV), STZ, CSF Control, STZ + Letrozole, and CSF + Letrozole Vehicle (CSF + LV) Control. The experimental time frame was 26 days from the experimental starting point, at which the stereotaxic surgery was performed on the STZ, CSF Control, STZ + Letrozole, and CSF + LV groups, to the animal euthanasia point, at which hippocampal samples were collected
