Receiver operator characteristics (ROC) analysis showed that vitamin D serum level ≤ 9 ng/ml best predict stroke severity (as determined by NIHSS score) with sensitivity and specificity of 74.2% and 71%, respectively. Area under curve (AUC) of 77% was significantly different from the random 50% (p < 0.0001)
